Entrepreneurship and Educational Innovation: Sustainable Circular Business Models in Education

Education is a fundamental human right and essential for the sustainable development of societies. The teaching of educational entrepreneurship seeks to create an educational system that promotes environmental, social and economic sustainability. In this context, sustainable circular business models can play a key role in guaranteeing new opportunities for the expansion of knowledge, employability and sustainable development based on educational innovation and commercial competitiveness techniques. This article presents a reflection on the teaching of entrepreneurship and the management of educational innovation and its contribution to the generation of sustainable circular business models focused on education. Firstly, the concepts of educational innovation, business model, circular economy, sustainability and entrepreneurship are explored in the context of education in Ecuador. Then, a didactic exercise is presented using the Design Thinking methodology, for the creation of sustainable business models at the level of university students and its impact on strengthening soft skills and competencies to promote the entrepreneurial spirit. Finally, the learning horizons and implications of sustainable business models focused on education are reflected.
