Strengths and weaknesses of pedagogy in cyberspace during the COVID-19 quarantine period

The health emergency arising from COVID-19 has completely altered the lives of the world's inhabitants, the educational system being one of the hardest hit by this pandemic. In this way, the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education has rethought the constructivist pedagogical model that was regularly used at the initial, basic and high school levels, adopting as an alternative a collectivist approach that uses technological resources whose scenario is cyberspace in order to continue with the educational process. This methodology has presented strengths and weaknesses for all the actors of the educational task themselves that will be analyzed in this writing. One of the greatest benefits is the interruption of the educational process, since one of the characteristics of virtual teaching is the absence of time and space since it is asynchronous. However, along the way there have been obstacles that have not allowed normal development and easy access to resources that favor the acquisition of meaningful learning. Among these limitations are: the lack of training in ICT management, the absence of connectivity due to various factors, among others.
