Education worldwide has undergone significant changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to a considerable increase in the demand for online training, and Ecuador has also assimilated these work tools. The objective of this research was to explore the expectations of early childhood education teachers regarding their participation in a video training experience during the pandemic. An exploratory qualitative study was conducted through semi-structured interviews with 7 early childhood education teachers from the cities of Azogues and Cuenca, evaluating the criteria and lived experiences through discourse analysis. The results indicate that teachers expect to improve their professional practice, overcome barriers in the classroom, learn new methodological strategies and dynamics to implement with children, and contribute to the development and meaningful learning of children. The study concludes with an overview of pedagogical practices in virtual mode at the initial level, highlighting both the challenges and the positive aspects.
