Educational management directly influences the work climate in school institutions, conditioning both staff performance and the quality of educational services. This study aimed to analyze the functions of educational management to optimize the work climate at the Mahatma Gandhi Basic Education School, Babahoyo, Ecuador. A mixed methods approach (qualitative-quantitative) was employed with a descriptive cross sectional non experimental design. A total of 154 members of the educational community participated: 144 parents, who completed a Likert scale survey, and 10 teaching-administrative staff members who responded to structured interviews. The results showed that 90% of the teaching-administrative staff identified difficulties in handling complaints and suggestions, while 70% of this group and 30,56% of the parents considered the institutional communication channels insufficient. The qualitative component revealed that informal communication without documented records predominates and that there are infrastructure limitations. It is concluded that deficiencies in internal communication negatively affect the work climate; therefore, the formalization of communication protocols and the creation of participatory spaces constitute priority strategies for improving the work environment and educational outcomes
