We are in a constant process of digital evolution for the educational field, being necessary for teachers to develop digital skills to achieve innovations in the teaching-learning process and their adaptation to these new trends according to Mar-Orozco, Cruz-Rivero and Lince-Olguin (2020), the implementation of educational models that adapt to this educational revolution through technological resources that achieve significant learning in the face of the new challenges that arise in the new generations of students, being digital natives, but noting emotional havoc according to Cortés (2021). When implementing educational technology, one must have full mastery of digital skills as stated by Sandia, Aguilar and Luzardo (2018), evidencing the digital divide at different educational levels, on the other hand, the challenges during and post-pandemic for Rodríguez and Cabell (2021), is to promote digital skills since they are part of transcending the virtualization of education in the same way that Salinas (2020) points out. The purpose of this essay is to highlight the importance of mastering and applying the teacher's digital skills during and post-pandemic to promote new educational models through educational technology that favor virtual education in our current society.
