This research examines the influence of digital managerial competencies on teaching innovation in two educational districts of Ecuador. The study is based on the need to identify how digital competencies of managers impact educational quality and pedagogical innovation. Through a mixed methodology (quantitative and qualitative), data from 110 managers and 170 teachers were analyzed through surveys and documentary analysis. Results revealed that 70% of managers possess an intermediate level of digital competencies, and there is a moderate positive correlation (r=0,45) between these competencies and the implementation of innovative practices. It was identified that institutions with specific digital training policies achieve 75% adoption of innovative practices, compared to 30% in institutions without specific policies. It is concluded that digital managerial competencies are decisive in driving pedagogical innovation, suggesting the need to rethink management training programs with emphasis on digital skills development.
