Strategic Planning in the Acquisition of Digital Competencies of Teachers

The transition to virtual education revealed deficiencies in digital competencies among teachers at professional driver training schools, limiting the quality of the educational process. The objective of this research was to design a strategic plan for the development of digital competencies in the area of information and information literacy. A qualitative approach supported by descriptive statistics was employed, with a non experimental descriptive observational design and case study methodology. The sample included 15 teachers selected through non probabilistic convenience sampling, applying questionnaires, focus groups, and expert interviews. The results revealed varied levels of digital competencies, preference for Zoom and Moodle, gaps in the use of advanced platforms, and a positive attitude toward technological training. The SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) identified strengths such as collaborative spirit and weaknesses such as lack of technological resources. It is concluded that the strategic plan designed, structured in phases of diagnosis, training, and evaluation using eXeLearning and Moodle Evisip, constitutes a viable tool to strengthen teachers' digital competencies, satisfactorily meeting the stated objective.
